Sikjangsan Mountain (623.6m) is a mountain that spans three regions: Dong-gu, Daejeon Metropolitan City, Gunbuk-myeon, and Gunseo-myeon, Okcheon-gun.
It is the highest peak in Daejeon Metropolitan City and stands on par with famous mountains in the neighboring region such as Seodaesan Mountain (904m), the highest peak in South Chungcheong Province, and Daeseongsan Mountain (705m), the highest peak in Okcheon, and is a mountain that adorns the southeastern part of Dong-gu.
This mountain, which contains a 4.82 million ㎡ natural ecological conservation forest designated by Daejeon Metropolitan City, is home to 78 families, 187 genera, 224 species, and 45 varieties of plants, 45 species of mammals including roe deer, squirrels, wild cats, raccoons, and bats, and over 100 species of birds, reptiles, and roe deer. It is a treasure trove of ecology where amphibians and other animals live.

Chudong Artificial Ecological Wetland was designated as a wetland protection area by Daejeon City on December 26, 2008, and is home to endangered species such as the Otter, a Natural Monument, the Mandarin Duck, a Natural Monument, as well as buzzards, white-throated plovers, and woodcocks.
'Chudong Ecological Wetland Park', an emerging travel destination in slow culture. Introduction to the Tomb of Mr. Kim Jeong


The Tomb of Kim Jeong is a relic related to Kim Jeong in Chungam, located in the eastern part of Dong-gu, Daejeon.
Chungam Kim Jeong (1486-1521) was a person who served as a magistrate and a civil servant during the reign of King Jungjong of the Joseon Dynasty.
Together with Jo Gwang-jo, Kim Jong-un worked hard to break down superstitions and provide mutual aid among local people, and made great achievements in implementing local medicine throughout the country.
Afterwards, during the Gimyosahwa of 1519, he was imprisoned along with Jo Gwang-jo and others, and was exiled to Geumsan, where he was ordained on Jeju Island.
The part of Kim Jeong's tomb was created in 1978 when the tomb was moved from Naetap-ri, Dong-myeon, Daedeok-gun, Chungcheongnam-do, which was submerged by water due to the construction of Daecheong Dam, along with the shrine, the byeolmyo that enshrined Kim Jeong's memorial tablet, Sanhaedang, and his wife's Jeongryeo-gak. It is done.
And on July 10, 1991, its cultural property value was recognized and it was designated as a cultural property of Daejeon Metropolitan City.

Maninsan Green Learning Center is a natural recreation forest located on Maninsan Mountain, which rises between Dong-gu, Daejeon and Geumsan-gun, South Chungcheong Province.
Maninsan Mountain was a place where the wombs of King Taejo and the prince were enshrined during the Joseon Dynasty due to its beautiful mountain scenery.
Clear water always flows through the valley, and the forest is dense with broad-leaved trees, creating a natural recreational forest.
The Pureun Learning Center, located inside the recreation forest, has a herbarium displaying animal specimens such as birds, fish, and insects, a fossil hall displaying world-rare meteorites, a dinosaur hall displaying life-sized dinosaurs, and a living space depicting the lifestyles of prehistoric ancestors. In addition to recreational forest facilities including a nature learning exhibition hall with a prehistoric hall displaying relics, an astronomical observatory where you can explore the infinite universe, a wood experience center, a learning farm, an adventure play facility, and a forest bathing area, there are also playgrounds, auditoriums, and classrooms for group visitors to use. Introduction to Daecheong Lake


It is an artificial lake spanning across Daejeon Metropolitan City, Cheongju City, Okcheon-gun, and Boeun-gun in Chungcheongbuk-do.
It was created in 1980 with the completion of Daecheong Dam.
We supply drinking water as well as domestic and industrial water to the Daejeon and Cheongju areas.
With a reservoir area of 72.8㎢, a lake length of 80km, and a water storage capacity of 1.5 billion tons, it is the third largest lake in Korea.
It is well-known as a driving course as it has hills and trees at an altitude of 200 to 300 meters above the lake.

Introduction to Sammaedang


This is a 17th century building built by Park Gye-rip (1600~?), who served as Yeonwondo Chalbang during the reign of King Seonjo of the Joseon Dynasty.
If you go left along the wall of Daejeon Public Health University, you will see the Song Si-yeol historical site, and if you go up behind it, you will find yourself below the Monument to Park Paeng-nyeon.
Born in the nearby Gayang-dong, Dong-gu, in the 22nd year of King Injo's reign (1644), after he retired from public office, he built a school here and planted three plum trees in the garden. He also built pavilions on all sides and planted five willow trees to create Oryujeong (五柳亭). It was called.
One day, Song Si-yeol (宋時烈) passed by this place and saw plum blossoms in bloom, so he named it Sammaedang (三梅堂) and wrote a poem and hung it up.

Introduction to Park Paeng-nyeon’s Yuheo Monument


The monument to the remains of Park Paeng-nyeon is preserved in Dong-gu, Daejeon.
This is the site of the house where Mr. Chwigeumheon Park Paeng-nyeon (1417-1456), one of the six six gods of the early Joseon Dynasty, lived.
The teacher was born in 1417 (the 17th year of King Taejong's reign) in Wangdaebeol, Heungnongchon, Hoedeokhyeon (currently Gayang-dong, Dong-gu, Daejeon).
It is said that he gave himself the pen name [Chwigeumheon] because he always liked playing the gayageum.
It is currently preserved in the form of a monument, and in recognition of its cultural property value, it was designated as a cultural property of Daejeon Metropolitan City on March 18, 1989.

Secheon Park is a park located at the northern foot of Sikjangsan Mountain (597m), which rises on the border between Dong-gu, Daejeon and Okcheon-gun, North Chungcheong Province.
About 6,000 species of plants grow here, including 800 species native to Korea.
Secheon Park was recognized for its value and was designated as [Secheon Ecological Conservation Forest] on June 3, 1996.
