Introduction to the main building of Yeonghwa Elementary School
Yeonghwa Elementary School, located in Changyeong-dong, Dong-gu, Incheon, is the first modern educational institution in Incheon, established for the purpose of Christian missionary work and women's enlightenment.
Yeonghwa Elementary School was founded in 1892 under the name of Yeonghwa Academy by Margaret Benzel Jones, wife of Pastor Jones, the second senior pastor of Naeri Church.
At that time, class subjects were diverse, including arithmetic, English, the Bible, theory of the earth, and sewing.
When the school was opened, the number of students was 1, but when the number of students increased to 47 in 1905, a new school building was built and relocated to Ssarijae, Gyeongdong, Jung-gu, Incheon, and the number of teachers increased to 5.
In August 1906, the course period was reorganized to 4 years, and the first class of 9 graduates was produced.
The main building of Yeonghwa Elementary School, which currently remains in Soehongogae, Yeonghwa-dong, was built after the school site was purchased here in 1909, construction began on March 30, 1910, and was completed on September 14, 1911, and is still there today.
It was officially approved as a film school in August 1912, and a film kindergarten was established in 1917.
Afterwards, it suffered many difficulties due to colonial education during the Japanese colonial period, and in the 1930s, it gradually fell into decline, being pushed out by government schools.
It has high historical significance as the birthplace of famous people such as Dong-A Ilbo reporter Lee Gil-yong, the protagonist of the Japanese flag incident involving Son Ki-jeong, former Ewha Womans University College of Arts Dean Kim Young-eui, former Ewha Womans University President Dr. Kim Hwal-ran, and actress Hwang Jeong-sun.

Introduction to Changyeong Elementary School (old) teacher
Changyeong Elementary School opened in 1907 as a public elementary school in Incheon.
The name was changed to Incheon Jeil Public Elementary School in 1933, Incheon Changyeong Public Simsang Elementary School in 1938, Changyeong Public Elementary School in 1941, and Changyeong Elementary School after liberation.
The old school building was built in 1924 and has a straight configuration.
It is a building from the first half of the Japanese colonial period in which the entrance, hallway, railings, and pillars are in a relatively good state of preservation.
Changyeong Elementary School was also the epicenter of the Incheon Manse Movement during the March 1st Movement.
Inspired by the March 1st Independence Movement protests, Changyeong School third and fourth grade students Kim Myeong-jin, Lee Man-yong, Park Cheol-jun, and Son Chang-shin cut off the school's telephone line on March 6, 1919, declared a closed school, and left the school at noon to go to Incheon Public Commerce. He was imprisoned while leading a protest by marching through the city with students from his school (now Incheon High School) shouting “Long Live Korean Independence”.
At Changyeong Elementary School, a monument to the March 1 Independence Movement is erected to commemorate the first independence movement in Incheon.

Incheon Christian Social Welfare Center (female missionary dormitory)
Introduction to Incheon Christian Social Welfare Center (female missionary dormitory)
This is a former female missionary dormitory where Methodist female missionaries stayed.
In 1885, missionary Underwood of the Northern Presbyterian Church and missionary Appenzeller of the Northern Methodist Church entered Korea through Jemulpo Port, and full-scale Christian missionary activities began.
Afterwards, there was a need for accommodations for missionaries who arrived for missionary work, and for that reason, a female missionary dormitory was completed in 1894.
The person who led the construction was Pastor Jones of Naeri Church, who was appointed to Incheon in 1892.
In the late 19th century, it was used as a dormitory for female missionaries sent by the American Northern Methodist Church, and was also used as a summer vacation spot for female missionaries in Seoul and Pyongyang.
The size of the building is 142 pyeong (142 pyeong) with two floors above ground and one floor underground. A dormitory for male missionaries was built next to it, and another building was used as a home for Appenzeller missionaries.
The male missionaries' dormitory is currently where the Incheon Tax Office is located.
Although the exterior of the building is simple, the roof structure is unique, and the wall structure follows the Renaissance style of early modern Northern Europe using red bricks and plaster.
It is also noteworthy that an attempt was made to harmonize with the traditional style, such as by installing a dragon-shaped window that was used in a seowon or temple monk's room during the Joseon Dynasty and by incorporating a strangulation pattern on the edge.
Since taking over the building from Changyeong Church in 2003, it has been managed by Changyeong Methodist Church to this day.

Hwadojin Park
Introduction to Hwadojin Park
Hwadojin was established for the coastal border of Incheon in the late Joseon Dynasty, and is located in the area of 138 Hwasu-dong, which was the only waterway gateway to the capital Seoul, stimulated by the successive invasions of the United States, France, and Japan, including the Sinmiyangyo and Unyangho incidents.
In 1982, the 100th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Korea and the United States, the city of Incheon created a park in this area and erected a commemorative marker to commemorate the occasion.
Afterwards, in December 1988, Hwadojin Barracks was completely restored based on the old Hwadojin camp, including Dongheon, Anchae, Sarangchae, and Exhibition Hall, and was equipped with various convenience and auxiliary facilities to create a cozy resting place in the city, and was reborn as a historical living education center.
Dongheon is a place where officials carried out their duties, and a wax figure depicts the signing of the Korea-US Treaty of Amity and Commerce at the time.
The inner sasa is the hostess's residence and is also called the anchae. In the master bedroom, various relics such as a boryo, a bandit ring, a beoseonjang, a three-story chest, and a bandagi are on display, and in the main hall, cupboards, rice pads, and tablecloths reproduce the lifestyle of the time.
Sarangchae is the residence of the outside owner, and the more educated he is, the more prosperous his social status or family status is, the larger the size is. It is a measure of the social culture of the time and tells the owner's mental inclination and economic ability, while the sarangchae in Hwadojin, which was a naval base, was where soldiers lived. It was used as one of the barracks buildings.

Introduction to Songhyeon Bae Suji Je Sub Room
Songhyeon Reservoir is Incheon's first water supply facility and urban planning facility. Construction began in November 1906 and was completed in 1908 following the completion of the Gyeongin Waterway design by Dr. Jungdo in 1905.
In October 1910, the Noryangjin water source water purification facility was completed, and a 32.64km water pipe was installed between Noryangjin and Incheon, and water supply began on December 10 of the same year.
Songhyeon Drainage Reservoir has a site area of 36,780㎡ and 5,000㎡ and is equipped with three water storage tanks. Currently, the area receiving water from this reservoir is the Dong-gu area and parts of Jung-gu.
The water storage capacity is 20,000 tons, similar to that at the time of completion.
The existing reservoir building includes a water reservoir, a 23-step granite long stone staircase, and an iron main gate. The main gate is made of concrete pillars placed on top of the granite base and has a quadrangular shape and a round granite capital.
The sump toilet is a facility that protects the sump valve, which is responsible for water shutoff and hydraulic pressure control of the drain pipe in the drainage basin. It is cylindrical and has an integrated, plain concrete structure.

Hwado Jinji
Introduction to Hwadojinji
Hwado Camp is 6,252 pyeong in size, and its main facilities include 11 barracks, a monument to the Korea-US Amity Treaty, and an artifact exhibition hall.
The reason why the camp was established here was because it was a strategic point where all ships entering Hanyang passed through Incheon at the time. It was established and operated in 1879 (the 16th year of King Gojong's reign) to prevent foreign invasions, but was abolished in 1894 when the military system was reorganized due to the Gabo Reform. It later burned down.
Hwadojin is the place where the Korea-U.S. Treaty of Amity and Commerce was signed on May 22, the 19th year of King Gojong's reign (1882), and it is the place of martyrdom where brothers Lee Yeon-gui and Lee Gyun-gui, the great-grandsons of Lee Seung-hun, the first Catholic prince in Korea, were executed during the Sinmi Yangyo period.
In particular, the location of the forgotten Hwado Jinji was confirmed through the efforts of Choi Seong-yeon, a local historian in Incheon.
In Dong-gu, a folk game festival is held every year on the first full moon of the year, and in May, the Hwadojin Festival is held with the theme of national (city) intangible cultural heritage performances, Korean traditional music performances, and traditional craft demonstrations.
Jin is an abbreviation for Jinyeong (鎭營), one of the local government offices that managed the local military, and has three ranks: Jujin (main 鎭), Geojin (巨鎭), and Jejin (諸鎭), depending on the rank of the Jinyeong commander (鎭營將). There were ranks, and Hwadojin was one of the Jinjin presided over by Manho (萬戶) and Dowi (都尉).
The current appearance of Hwadojinji was restored in September 1988 based on the old Hwadojinjin, the appearance of the Hwadojin military camp at the time.
In early May, 30,000 azalea flowers are in full bloom, and an artificial waterfall is also worth seeing.
