Nokcheongja Site in Gyeongseo-dong, Incheon
Introduction to Nokcheongja in Gyeongseo-dong, Incheon
It was designated as a historic site in May 1970 and was the first nationally designated cultural property in our hometown.
On December 9, 1984, 82.6 ㎥ of protective film was restored here.
In addition, the main types of excavated items included bowls and bowls, while pottery bowls, half-spherical globe bottles, and jars were also excavated.
The color of the glaze is greenish-brown and dark green, opaque and matte, and there are spots on the surface, but this is believed to be due to the effects of the glaze ingredients, the special structure of the kiln, and the firing temperature.
The slope of the mattress is about 22 degrees, and what is noteworthy here is the special style in which circular dojimi (dog rice cakes) made of clay are arranged on the gently sloping surface of the mattress.
This dojimi refers to the base on which the dishes are placed one by one before baking, so that the heels of the dishes do not directly touch the table.
The shape of this base is like a horseshoe, thick at the front and thin at the back. The thick side is placed on the bottom on a sloping platform so that the bowl is balanced.
So, rather than making the convex body horizontal, it is adjusted horizontally using a base. The base becomes higher as you go downward, so that the dishes placed on it are balanced.
Since only two pottery pottery sites with this structural style were discovered in Japan, Japan had been proud of this as something unique to Japan. However, with the discovery of the green-cheong pottery pottery site in Gyeongseo-dong, Incheon, it will serve as valuable data to reveal the route of pottery technology outflow to Japan, depending on future research. It will.

Gyeongin Ara Waterway

Introduction to Gyeongin Ara Waterway
The 'Ara' in 'Ara Waterway' is taken from the refrain 'Arario' of the Korean folk song 'Arirang'.
It is a waterway connecting the West Sea and the Han River through which the beauty, spirit, emotions, and culture of our people flow. It contains the desire to become a 'global luxury waterway' that creates a new culture in Korea.
The Ara Waterway is an inland canal that starts from the Ara Hangang Lock Gate near Haengju Bridge (Gaehwa-dong, Gangseo-gu, Seoul), passes through Gimpo City, Gyeyang-gu, Incheon City, and connects to the sea through Seo-gu, Incheon City.
In order to secure a mass transportation route for flood prevention and to use it as a canal in normal times, the Gyeongin Canal project was promoted starting in 1995. After a long period of review of the Gyeongin Canal project plan and feasibility, the first project was finally broken in 2009, and in 2012 In 2018, the Gyeongin Ara Waterway was finally born.
The main transportation channel is 18km long (including the 14.2km spillway section) from Oryu-dong, Seo-gu, Incheon (West Sea) to Gaehwa-dong, Gangseo-gu, Seoul (Han River). For the convenience of residents, crossing bridges were built on the main transportation channel at an average interval of 1km.
There are a total of 16 bridges on the Ara Waterway. The bridges were mainly constructed in the form of girder bridges to provide a sense of openness without obstructing the view of the waterway from the passenger ship and the bridge. Some are Extradosed Bridges (Sicheon Bridge) and Cable Stayed Bridges (Baekseok Bridge). ), and arch bridges (Gimpo Ara Bridge).
By installing natural lighting that matches the surroundings, you can see the beautiful bridge sparkling even at night, and each bridge has specialized patterns on the pedestrian railings, adding to the stylish look.
On the Ara Waterway, you can enjoy a variety of cultural experiences across the water and waterside spaces.
On the water, you can experience leisure activities such as cruise ships, yachts, and canoeing, and on the waterside, you can visit cultural facilities such as the observatory, Hamsang Park, and the cultural center, or rent a bicycle and enjoy riding along the 18km waterway along the waterside.

Introduction to Sesedo
Wonchang-dong, where Seo Island belongs, was originally called Gaetmal (浦里) and Hwanyanggot (患子串) village. Gaetmal means mudflat village and Hwanyanggot is now called Daeyanggok (貸與糧穀). ), so it is named because there is a warehouse that stores them.
Seo-do means a long, thin island, and is also called Seocheon-do, meaning an island off to the west (Seo-gu, Incheon, 2004). The nickname of Seeodo is Seru or Siru, and it is registered under the name Seocheondo in Yeojidoseo (與地圖書).
Historically, Seodo was located on the road to transport grains from the Samnam region during the Joseon Dynasty and was the last stop on the way to Hanyang, so local residents began to gather and live there, and at one time it prospered to the extent of reaching 60 to 70 households.
However, with the advent of large ships, the operation of transport ships decreased, and the residents migrated due to livelihood problems. Currently, a small number of people make a living by engaging in fishing.
